Give some credit to Chelsea....I think there spotted a weakness in our defending. An outswinging corner to the penalty spot attracted the two lines of defenders. Most times we'd have won the header and everyone would have pushed out. But with a man on each post, it created space for the attackers to exploit. Jamie Redknapp also pointed out in commentary that Riise failed to pick up his man as Gerrard was pointing out, allowing Gallas a free shot.
I think this will be a simple one for Rafa to sort out.
Might as well pbutt comment on their 2nd goal.....quite simply Warnock played Crespo onside. I don't think any team in the league plays as high up the pitch as us. Not since the Arsenal side of Adams et al have I seen a team play for offside so much. I don't think it's a bad thing, provided it's done well, but we're always running the risk of being punished when facing world clbutt strikers like Crespo (who also had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside).
Ask yourself this.....swap Crespo for Crouch, and who would have won that game?
