We were the only premiership side not to have scored against Birmingham last season. It's payback time. I hope we f***in stuff em!

Steve Hunter 24 September 2005 Benitez described it afterwards as the most disappointing performance of the season but says Liverpool this season have a better team and squad this time around.

Benitez said: "I don't have happy memories of that game. Everton had lost 1-0 to Chelsea and we wanted to win and reduce the gap to them. We didn't do that and I was very disappointed by the performance that day.

"This season we have a better team, a stronger squad and we are confident that we can go to Birmingham and get a good result. We know people are talking about the fact that we don't score goals and don't concede goals, but we will start scoring goals soon.

"In pre-season we scored 25 goals but we conceded goals as well. I am sure it is only a matter of time before we start scoring goals as we have good strikers.

"We know we need to start winning games but we have confidence and we have a strong team with a clear idea of winning."
