Let's say they announced in advance that the visiting team would be playing with 10 men. Do you think that would affect the number of spectators and general interest in the match ?
I doubt Barcelona would have had the chances to run at the goalkeeper to score those goals if Arsenal was at full strength.
Almunia did make a tremendous point blank save on Eto'o, which appeared to injure his fingers. Eto'o was clearly the man of the match and in what I think was the first time I saw him play, he appears to be the closest thing today to Pele. He set up the goalkeeper Sent Off, starting the play from midfield, then running off the ball and then finishing.
The penalty and having to replace Lehmann with Almunia would have been sufficient punishment for the offense committed by Lehmann.
Rubbish. Headbutting a much larger man on his chest bone the most harmless act one could take and is actually a defensive maneuver of a smaller man attempting to hold his ground when a bigger man is onrushing. Zidane felt threatened and when Materazzi ran straight at him was forced to defend himself.
As I have mentioned in the Neill-Grosso issue, each player has a right to his own position on the field, as long as he acquires that position and becomes stationary before the opposing player reaches that spot. Materazzi should have run around Zidane, not threatened to run him over.
Cannavaro should have been Sent Off in the 1st minute for Shoulder Butt on Henry (which no doubt Zidane was reacting to), and Materazzi himself should have been Sent Off in the 6th minute for tripping Malouda on a breakaway to goal. Heck you support Lehmann being Sent Off in the Arsenal-Barcelona Euro Final. You must agree here. The truth, as posted by Bob here (who watched on HDTV) :
and at full speed, my Putfile:
The World Cup Final 1st failure of the refere to find out what knocked out Henry and Sent Off Cannavaro was a deviation from what this crook referee did in this Zidane Sent off. That inconsistency should start an automatic corruption investigation of this referee by FIFA.
No point here. Organized Crime Gambling simply wantsw to fix the outcome of the match, without being caught. The referee himself shooting the ball into the France goal with his own foot would be too obvious.
Better athletes and better reactions generally rest with the better team. Better teams usually block shots better, so that they do not rebound toward goal. Of course, there are exceptions, but that is generally the case.
