I am not sure about this manager. Nice feller..... too nice maybe? If Pool had not had a decent run in Europe he would be getting far more flack than he gets right now. Seems he gets the tactics about right for those games but cannot inspire his side to show any form for these qualifiers for next years competition. If Liverpool were an absolute crap outfit it would be understandable. The manager cannot work miracles. But they are not. They are in the Euro semi final, and they have given Chelsea, wiiners of the hardest league in Europe, some of their closest games of the season.
Isn't it most often true that there is something missing in the set up when teams perform well in games where they need little outside motivation, but then play rubbish in the bread and butter fixtures?
Beat Juve, but an away record about the same as Norwich? I have a hunch that Benetez sulks to show his displeasure and that players left the ground yesterday with a slap on the wrist when they should have had a kick up the arse? This excuse that Euro football and league football are different can be taken too far and can hide the fact that the players get themselves up for Europe, but the manager can't get them up for the Prem? But this is all speculation. He deserves a close season with some cash to get it right..........if he is up to it?
