He has never finished in the top four of the league, yet he is telling us how to run our national game? While he is at a club that have not won the league for 17 years, he should keep his mouth shut. Firmly shut. Does he not realise that if the refs start dishing out more cards, Stevie "two footed lunge" Gerrard will miss half the season?

I liked this quote :"It means you can see more good football and not the sort we've seen lately". LOL, it's Beneathus who is responsible for serving up Liverpool's shot shy crap football.

Nicked it?. .....well maybe. The goal did come late. But I thought it was the best all round...

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez says he wants to see more players booked to protect players from rash tackles. Benitez also called for the rules to be changed so players are banned for four bookings rather than five. "If referees show more yellow cards then things will be different. It means you can see more good football and not the sort we've seen lately," he said. "If we want to see the best players in the World Cup we need to protect them. We need to be stricter." Benitez's side have one of the Premiership's best disciplinary records, but hit the headlines recently when goalkeeper Jose Reina was dismissed after an incident involving Arjen Robben in their game with Chelsea. Robben was widely criticised for his role in Reina's sending off and Benitez said he placed great emphasis on playing clean. "Reina can't play because of a player's theatrical behaviour," he said. "To get three games out for that is not right if, for example, someone gets a broken ankle from a tackle or damages a knee. That could finish someone's career "I try to tell my players to play fair. I do not like to see diving. "It is right to protect the players from such things and from bad tackles. "That is more important, because you see a lot of players getting badly injured." -- Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope. Margaret Thatcher, 3rd May 1979.
