Have you ever heard of Max Weber and his study of the origins of capitalism in the Protestant reformation? It's a pretty simple but deadly thesis -- the individualism which Protestantism encouraged led directly to the capitalist expansion of 17th, 18th and 19th century England, Germany, and France. As Socialism is a response to capitalism, then we can trace it too to the ravages of the Reformation. Of course Socialism has a lot more in common with the Reformation than just its provenance, but suffice to say that your limited and rudimentary grasp of economic and political history as mortal combat between Socialism and Capitalism can be laughably and quite quickly dismissed by pointing out how **both** of these f***ing useless -isms derive from the same brainless monster, viz., the Protestant reformation.

So why should the Church endorse **either** of these products of Protestantism??
