And if *you* knew *your* Bible you would know that Church precedes Canon, not only chronologically but also in terms of its authority. Most of what we now know as the New Testament was written with well-established, liturgically active member churches in mind. Most of Paul's letters are addressed to these already-existing churches, which he considered local members of a larger body, namely, "the Church." In short, it was Churchmen who wrote scripture, or at least that part of it which most influences the world today, the New Testament. And it was the Church that decided which books to include in the Sacred Canon. It was to his Church that Christ entrusted hsi words. Thus, invoking scripture to put down the Church is a folly mitigated only by your residence in a country once ruled by Henry VIII, for which you cannot be blamed.
How Long 919Well, you are entitled to your opinions but not sure they stand up to close scrutiny...
HOWEVER, having said all of that, it may indeed be true that the Church shall be laid low by someone within her bounds. Christ (alluding to the prophet Daniel) warned the apostles that the *real sign* of the end times would not be wars, famines, and rumours of wars, but the enthronement of "the disastrous abomination in the holy place where it should not be," and the "abolition of the perpetual sacrifice." Many have interpreted this to mean some kind of anti-Pope set up in the Vatican, who sets about abolishing the Mbutt and dismantling the rules of the Church. This is a very interesting statement in my opinion, because it settles for once and for all the questions people have always had about the "end times." It is also interesting because, according to Malachy's list of popes is, shall we say, elderly!
Keep your eyes peeled, therefore, for those bastard Freemason Bolsheviks to get one of their own into the Holy Place, and that's your cue to flee to the hills. Don't say I didn't warn you.
FootballTo be honest, I subscribed to this thinkin there'd be some sensible football debate..... Perhaps it was a little silly of me, knowin that Chelski fans have come out of the woodwork...
PS he will be a very popular Pope, because he will abolish the Mbutt, allow all sorts of profanity and debauchery, break all the old rules and traditions, and of course people being the sheep they are will applaud him for it. Don't say I didn't warn you (Pt 2)
