Greeny of R5Some love him, some hate him. I can only listen to so much of him before he begins to annoy me, whatever the situation is on the pitch, bu he's a good commentator-pundit and...
......maybe, but only to people who are as idiotic as he is.
Blat the Prat suggests that all will be well if we restrict spending power by limiting each side to only 5 overseas players and names Chelsea as the main culprit. God knows why, because we all know that, as far as the Prem goes, this is not true, a fact which we might have expected a top administrator to know.
But how would it level the playing field? Teams with most cash would buy the best of the British players and supplement them with 5 top foreigners.
The only affective way to promote home grown talent would be to restrict the amount any side can spend on players, but Blatter wouldn't want to confront Europe's top sides with a suggestion like that. I read somewhere that many top English sides are investing heavily in producing home grown players. including Chelsea who have put in several million, along with Pool, Arsenal and others. They are not fools. A successful youth policy will save millions.
Meanwhile. much as many of us would like to see teams as they were a few decades back , made up of mainly British players, those days have gone and we might accept that it is the influx of those overseas players who adapt to the Prem which has made it the most exciting and watchable league in the world.

The mans a fool, which comes as no surprise when we look at that travesty recently held in Japan which he has spent years promoting in face of the worlds lack of interest. One decent side and 3 mediocre ones contesting a meaningless title.
It's time Blatter was dumped.
