Actualy I said they use it for too often. Ie, whenever they start losing an argument they blert out 18-5. They use their get out jail card as if it is actualy a "get out of anything card". (A similar relativist argument to the ones you seem so keen on)

Partly for brevity and partly because I dont have enough time to put you right on everything. :-)

Everything is subjective, your reasons for holding the opinions you do are subjective. Your whole argument here is no more based on objective fact than my opinion about a certain match. The "it's subjective" argument is self defeating because it is in itself subjective.

Relativism is all to often abused, it can be used to discount almost anything, including itself. You use it to discount opinion you dislike, instead of discounting what is actualy said. That is a bullpoo argument, sorry!

So it's better to be sure of being blind than to risk being unsure of what you see? Might aswell top yourself now eh? ;-)

I also heard that it sometimes causes brain damage, which could acount for your argument. ;-)

Actualy "they" recently discounted that myth and I am quite frankly shocked that you could believe such a thing without some facts to back it up. Could it realy be true that you have used anecdotal evidence and subjective opinion in conversation? Don't you know how dangerous that is?

Ah yes, but often things said in haste give a truer reflection of a persons beliefs. ;-)

There may be no absolute truth, but there is truth. You believe the ideas you put forward here to be true dont you?

Of couse i have. But you and I still look through that lense, we dont discount everything we see simply because it might be deceptive. Or else how would we even function?

If you discount everthing I say by saying "but that's subjective", and "objective so and so is all that matters" what other conclusion can be made?

I mean you are willing to say how great this and that is when it flatters Liverpool but when I contradict you my opinion is subjective and means nothing. And if you dont see the hypocrosy in that then you need to lift your head out from the dirt.

Do you always take things so literaly? Are you so stuck in your thinking that you do not understand that "the truth of the mater" is a figure of speech?

So should we abandon reason altogether? Seems a bit drastic considering all I said was Liverpool were a bit lucky! ;-)

No, I said "absolute truth" doesnt exist. It's a platonic ideal, real world truths are just fascimilies to a lesser or greater extent. Thats what Plato would have said, isnt it? It is part of what Popper siad about science, science can never be absolute, but it can refine, get closer.

Good job you mentioned that, i nearly forgot.

But I was not and have never talked about whether certain events would have changed the result. But that the truth about a game is more than the final result. Just as you think who you played is part of it so are many other things.

And it is often recognized as often unfair and flawed due to poor refereing.
