JUST what had little Cbuttius, Liam and Jude done to provoke such angry reaction from the 'best fans in the Premiership' - apart from possessing greater reading ages?

Yet the Geordie fans behind the goal reacted like Cisse had just told them a bottle of broon was strictly for big, fat lbuttes.

They ranted, they screamed, they gesticulated wildly. We haven't seen so much exposed, tattooed fat wobbling around since Giant Haystacks gripped Big Daddy in a half-nelson.

In the light of such reasoned and challenging debate, Cisse's reaction was perfectly suited to its target audience - he pulled tongues at them.

Did the Geordie nation really believe Peter Crouch wasn't actually fouled by Jean Alain Boumsong, or that the hapless Frenchman didn't deserve to be sent-off?

I've been taken to task before for criticising Newcastle fans on these pages. But they make it so easy.

Best fans in the Premiership? Only in their own deluded eyes.

I look forward to their letters of protest . . . written in crayon, of course.
