If this has been said before I apoligise but it's my view.
Chelsea.......... They are the reason why everyone is up in arms that this season that the league is "boring". The comments are wrong by the way, the league isnt boring, but Chelsea's current dominence is. That's not me being bitter. Good luck to them. But their dominence is coupled with arrogance which is why it winds people up.
If their form was as a result of Mourinio bringing together a bunch of players who he'd nurtured into a great side. (Like Liverpool of the 80''s and Man U of the 90's and Arsenal of the 00's they would get respect.
But all he's done is buy a Panini album, and bought his way to a good side. Now here lies the rub. Mourinio's talent in gelling all the "superstars" is to his great credit. He has built a defiance at the club, that all are against them, so Chelsea need to go out and fight there way to a win in every game. Who'd of thought that Wigan, would have given Chelsea their biggest fright this season. Chelsea are a team who go out thinking they can win every game. What a great attitude. Teams are ovrwhelmed by their supremecy and at times seem to wilt under the pressure that is bourne out of just being on the same pitch as Chelsea!
Villa attacked them on Saturday and were ahead for all of one minute. But when Chelsea scored that free kick there was only going to be one result.
So having said all that, why is it Chelsea's fault that everyone is saying the Premiership is boring. Because they are too predicable. They win every week. Invariably without conceding goal. If and when Liverpool beat them twice in a week. A new lease of life will once again be brought into the game. Chelsea won't be miles ahead in peoples minds. Football will once again be exciting. If Liverpool can do it why can't others?
But if Chelsea turnover Liverpool twice on their own pitch. Once again the only people celebrating will be the posh folk of South London.
Of course Chelsea's dominance has also coincided with a downturn in Arsenal and Man U fortunes, so what was once a 2 or 3 horse race now seems to be a one horse event. Is that Chelsea's fault?. If they win the league by 20 points and its all over by March. The focus of everyone will be on 2nd place and Auotmatic qualification into the CL.
That race will be exciting. With up to, on current form, 6 or 7 clubs fighting for the place, and upwards of a further 2 or 3 in with a chance of the 3rd and 4th place spots.
No one will give a stuff about Chelsea, who will once again strengthen their squad again next year to give them a further advantage. Not with skill, but once again with arrogance that their money brings.
Football boring? Nah. Chelsea boring. No I dont think their football is. Just their money ! But good luck to them.
