How on earth is the reasoning just as daft? The key to any act, from a moral point of view, is intention or will. Since a woman does not have voluntary control over her bodily functions she cannot come under moral scrutiny. A person who deliberately sets out to prevent the conception of a human being by means of artificial contraceptives can come under moral scrutiny, but only if we first establish who the judges are, and by whose authority they judge. No person or body can judge an action as moral or immoral unless mandated by God to do so, which is what I keep trying to get at. If the Catholic Church hasn't been endowed by Christ with the authority to make these pronouncements, and if Christ is not God anyway, then it doesn't matter what she teaches. If Christ is God, and if he intended the Church to continue his mission after his rest, with the help of the Paraclete, then we should take up our argument with God, and not with the Church.

Because the couple do not deliberately *prevent* the creation of human life. Abstinence is irrelevant because love doesn't happen; contraception is relevant because love happens, and one or both...

During the time of Jesus Popey, people were 'raised from the dead' all the time, LOL. Anyone who has read contemporary sources of the era would know...

Only if both alternatives do not co-exist in the mind of God "at the same time", for want of a better phrase. -- + His Holiness Pope Pompous XVIII
