loquated before with:
Are you being a sighted literalist?
...and yet the bible states that God operated under the influence of progressive time.
That people need to chill out about the bible? Yes, that's an absolute from me.
Un-biblical? Are you coining a new term here?
If you wish to argue comparative religion Pope, you'd be best served by studying it first.
Tell that to the men who wrote the bible. They seem to use those terms quite freely as did the Apostolic church and many of the later doctors of the church. Perhaps you should catch up with your bretheren. ;)
Le Dieu aside, you could simply have picked a particular topic on your own. Avoiding doing so at such an obvious opportunity suggests that you're neither prepared nor inclined to have you hat handed to you theologically speaking.
What does that have to do with organized religion being more damaging than beneficial? Are you trying to make the 'If one philosophy led directly and indirectly to the rest of millions, that's okay because people die..." argument?
Do you think anyone is thinking you're making a germane and clear argument in any way or do you think you're just bullpooting your way through the English language...? :)
Would you like me to post some of the anti-Aquinas-anti-Apologist arguments that point out several hypocrises of the 'doctors' of the church, specifically Aquinas? :) Ignoring moralist autonomy for now, examine the eternally existing yet created universe for starters.
Why don't you get a real religion like Scientology? LOL
Oh, yeah, the Catholic church doesn't do anything to protect themselves from the realities which are inconvenient... Now where did Martin Luther put that pesky translation of the vulgate...? Hmmm... LOL. Look up the term 'reformation' Popey :).
The defence of what? A few paragraphs ago you were stating that there was no case laid out by Le Dieu for you to answer and here you are proselytizing that you've supplied a defence? To what? LOL.
rest and pain are events predicated by actions, actions can be right or wrong, not rest and pain.
You're ridiculously trying to confuse events and the outcome of moral decisions with the decisions themselves. Pathetic, even for you Pope.
You seem to be under the delusion that you can defend organized religion as not being evil by indicating, at least in your mind, the presence of other evils. Painting two dark colors on the wall does not make one them light because the other is dark.
I would blame most of it on Catholics, because I was raised Catholic and I've studied both clbuttical history, the early, late, middle, 'renaissance', and the reformation. The arrogantly titled 'catholic' church is responsible for more misery than any other organized body secular or ecclesiastical that I can imagine.
Do I think the historic Catholic church is 'evil'? Not in purpose or goal, but in action and reality, quite often yes.
Do I think the modern Catholic church is 'evil'? Not in purpose or goal, but in action and reality, sometimes.
Know anything about Pious the XII? The church's involvement in the Balkans just prior to World War II?
