Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson looks set to commit his future to the club, according to reports.
The Eagles are to hold a press conference at 0900 BST on Tuesday to clarify the player's future.
The England international, 24, handed in a transfer request and looked set to leave rather than spend this season with Palace in the Championship.
But reports say the striker has decided to withdraw his transfer request and sign a new deal.
*Everton* failed with a £6m bid for the player at the end of June.
Tottenham and West Brom were also linked with the frontman but nothing came of their reported interest.
Johnson had asked for a move to boost his chances of making the England squad if the national side qualifies for the 2006 World Cup.
He scored 21 Premiership goals last season but could not stop the Eagles from being relegated to the Championship.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan maintained he had no plans to sell the player and he will join Johnson and Palace boss Iain Dowie at the press conference.
