Everton Joke

Hey, my buddy just sent this joke to me, I tweaked it a bit, but here it is. Sorry if you have heard this, but it cracked me up...

Just before a preseason friendly between Everton and Liverpool. Steven Gerrard goes into the Liverpool changing room and finds all of his teammates looking a bit glum. ÒWhatÕs UpÓ he asks. ÒWell, weÕre having trouble getting motivated for this game, we know itÕs big for the fans, but its only Everton, and theyÕre rubbish, and we canÕt be bothered,Ó say his teammates. Stevie talks to them and says ÒWell I reckon I can beat them by myself, you lads go down to the pub.Ó Well Stevie goes out to play Everton by himself, and the rest of the Liverpool team go off for a few drinks. After a few pints, they wonder how the game is going, so they get the bartender to turn on teletext a big screen TV. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads Liverpool 1 Everton 0- Gerrard 10Õ. HeÕs beating Everton all by himself. Anyway a few more pints later, and the game is forgotten till someone remembers, ÒHey it must be fulltime now, letÕs see how he got on.Ó They put the teletext back on. The result reads, Liverpool 1- Gerrard 10Õ Everton 1- Cahill 89Õ. They canÕt believe it; he has single-handedly gotten a draw against Everton. They rush back to the stadium to congratulate him. They find him in the dressing room still in his kit, but sat with his head in his hands and he refuses to look at them. And then he says ÒIÕve let you down, IÕve let you down.Ó They go, ÒDonÕt be duff, you got a draw against Everton all by yourself, and they only scored at the very end.Ó He goes, ÒNo, no, IÕve let you down, I got sent off after twelve minutes.Ó
