I was in Madrid over the weekend, went to the Atletico - Sevilla game (2-1), not a great advert for football but not without incident, 0-1 at HT, yellow cards dished out in what must have been double figures in the first half alone, Sevilla player red carded in first minute of 2nd half, two late goals from Atletico after a second Sevilla player red carded. Of interest, 57,500 seater stadium more or less sold out, many many tickets on sale the day before the match, we got ours by queueing for 20 mins at the ground on the sat. Away fans numbered about 50(max) in a small section of the upper tier. It rained a bit, we got wet, unthinkable....... The atmosphere was great, the stadium is also great, ok it's NOT as impressive as the Bernabeu but it's a fine stadium. Rated 5 ***** by Uefa alongside the Millenium, Stade de France,Amsterdam Arena,Ataturk etc. Atletico have been tipped to challenge for CL football following the signing of Mista, Maniche and the re-signing of Torres (towers?) ;-)

And FSP scored the winner (94th minute) for his new team Recreativo. "Recreativo de Huelva claimed an impressive 3-2 win at Real Sociedad. Antonio Sanchez de la Calle (39 & 53) struck twice for the visitors, but Real pulled it back level as Garcia Uranga (65) Alvaro Novo (77 pen). However, Recreativo secured the win as Liverpool loanee Florent Sinama Pongolle fired home in injury time."
ps also went to the bullfight for 20 minutes, not pretty, not clever.
