For the first time

LFC futureI seriously couldn't give a f*** about 4th place, i am way more concerned with building a team that is able to secure 1st place and having some investment... I actually hope we do sell Stevie G to Chelsea for £30M+. I haven't always been that complimentary about the player this season, but that is not what this is about. Our squad is simply not up to it; not even up to fourth. As I understand it, we don't have a lot of money. Neither do Arsenal or Man Utd. If we sell Stevie for a large wedge, we could have spends to buy four world clbutt players. Not many other Premiership clubs have that kind of potential this summer. There are a lot of good players milling around at average clubs that we could pick up. It's a good time to buy I think, and if Stevie's sale gives us the clout to do that, I think we could do well next season. Plus which, regardless of how good a player he is, there's no doubt that a team works better than nine players watching Stevie play well; and we play more pbuttionately as a team when he's not there to rely on. Losing Stevie would suck, but not as much as it would have done twelve months ago, and I don't think he'd hurt us as much as he might have done, should he go to Chelsea. I think Lamps and Stevie could get in each others way a bit. Plus which, the more big headed a player gets, the lower their performance levels drop. In this depressed market, the kind of money we could get for Stevie could really help us, and I'm not sure he's a man we can build our team around anyway. I'm also not sure he's ever going to be the player for us that he was last season. |
