I think too much focus has been put on us accommodating Beckham, whereas more of the focus should be on Sven accomodating Owen.
Against Wales, we left out owen and the front 3 looked alot more balanced, Roon don't know how to play that supporting role in a 3 man attack, so the front 3 should have been joe cole, rooney and SWP.
Even though Sven must have realised it was a mistake to use owen, he was still to arrogant to bring him off because then he is admitting a mistake.
Lampard and Gerrard are under performing in internationals, but they are the players you need that can just pull a goal out of the hat from 30 yards out, even when they are playing poo.
The back 4 was dreadful, alot of blame was put on Rio, i'm not his biggest fan but i felt it was A. Coles fault, he should be following rio, the man that is leading the line, Young and carragher didnt seem to have a problem following ferdinand only a cole. When JT is back i think he'll bring some stability and leadership to the back 4. I mean Rio dont look like he has authority and carragher looks like the one that got bum f***ed in scum.

SWP did have trouble controlling some balls, but then again, you try to bring it down properly and you are hacked, or you try knocking it ahead of you and risk losing it, i think he made the right decisions.
