Game last night

All I'm saying is that it is idiotic if not indeed a sign of culpable stupidity bordering on brainlessness to judge the validity of bookings by the number issued.

Basically what you're saying is that if there are three or four fouls in a game and three or four yellows then the referee is to blame because he has issued yellow cards for all fouls?

What I'm saying is that if an offence (and it wasn't just fouls by the way -- if you watched the match at all you'd see that Deco's second yellow was for something other than a foul) deserves a booking then it deserves a booking, no matter how many times already the referee has shown the card.

The game was spoiled by the players on both sides, not by the referee. He was put in an invidious position by both sides, but especially by one, sent out by the manager to kick seven shades of purple out of the other.

Australia
Pope Pompous XVIII I mean yes, the Aussies never looked like breaking down the Italian wall. For all their possessions, and their numerical advantage over Italy, they had absolutely nothing...
