Gerrard backs Crouch for record

Midfielder Gerrard, who scored England's second goal, said: "Peter's goal record is frightening. It is another example of fellow team mates praising each other and in this case sucking each others arseholes. Crouch should not be starting in the England team, he is an option to bring on 20 minutes from the end to try and change things. It's not just Gerrard though is it? Yes but who against ?, David Platt scored a few but I would not liken him to Charlton who played against some decent sides. Agreed. Peter is nailing hides to the wall which are easily come by. Nothing makes this more apparent than his failure to score against quality opposition.
