against chelsea, Stevie has not been his own impressive self, commanding authority in the middle of the pitch, we can be difficult for us. Any thoughts?
I doubt if it is that easy. Gerrard is good, no doubt about it, but last night proved that he is not indispensable . It's also true that the Chelsea system makes it very hard for a player to become a "commanding authority" in the middle of the pitch whatever his name is. Liverpools main chance could be to try to play the game as they did last night - a typical CL style - rather than the pacey Prem type of match, not so easy when playing a fellow Prem side. But will they score if they play this way or keep Chelsea out if Robben is back? Pool have the advantage of playing at home 2nd time and if they can get there level they will fancy their chances. They are feeling great right now, but it is important that they don't put in more crap Prem displays before the semi. Confidence can be erroded very quickly and we all remember how they froze in the League Cup Final ? Still, I think they have Spurs at home next? That should see them on their way nicely.
