KOPTALK: Target confirms Reds deal
Albacete winger Mark Gonzalez believes he will finally be granted a work permit by the British government after Chile made progress in the international rankings.
Gonzalez was denied a work permit in the summer after initially agreeing a year-long loan but it is believed that the powers that be have unofficially given the green light for him to ply his trade in the Premiership and Liverpool have now struck a deal to bring him in on a permanent basis.
Speaking about the developments, the player said: "Yes, I have already signed as a new player of Liverpool. The contract with the English club is for four years but I cannot give you any more details. Tomorrow, you will know everything."
Liverpool have confirmed that they are close to bringing in winger Mark Gonzalez.
Chief Scout Paco Herrera says only a few minor details need to be ironed out to enable the Albacete player to become a Red.
He said: "Mark Gonzalez is a footballer that has interested us for some time. Today, we could initiate the necessary procedures to agree to buy him. No longer do we speak of a loan, but of the final purchase of the player."
