Well, it's true the cup is in the cabinet so it is hard to remember what actually happened, but the...

Amazing how supporting a team blinds some people to just how good their favourites really are.

Certainly, if you want a captain who seldom plays well for his country, and finds it difficult to put a sentence together and has all the personality of a dead fish. A captain needs to have more than the occasional bright spell. He needs consistency, and Gerrard has shown zero for England. He needs to be tactically aware and Stevie has often showed he is lacking here at international level. He also drops his head too quickly, as in the first half of the CL cup final, although his second half performance was fine.

Fine player at league level, but you cannot lead an England side by example ( which is what his supporters tend to suggest he does) when the level of performance is seldom good enough to be an example to anyone.

Terry would remain a good captain even if playing poorly, which is rare. An off form Gerrard would be a disaster.

Facts....uncluttered by any stupid hero worship. As a skipper he is probably one of the poorest Pool have had in the 50 plus years I have watched them. Wonder what your opinions would have been if he had actually joined Chelsea?

Silly question......we all know don't we?
