Harry K injuries

Liverpool's Australian forward Harry Kewell has hit out at suggestions that he has been 'exaggerating' his injury troubles. The former Leeds man has endured a season of frustration, with a number of niggling injuries restricting his appearances and his impact on the team. A groin injury would appear to be the most serious problem for Kewell and he has been seeing a specialist in Germany who has advised that the forward should be allowed to rest for the remainder of the season. Reds boss Rafa Benitez has grown increasingly frustrated with Kewell's fitness troubles and said recently that he does not know what is wrong with the forward. "One day Harry is okay, and the next he says he is unfit," Benitez said recently. "We will talk with the doctor and try and look at his situation. We don't know exactly what the problem is. It changes each day. "One day he says it's the groin; then it's the ankle. Another day he says he can play. We need to find the solution to this." It would appear that Kewell has been angered by suggestions that his problems are 'exaggerated', as he has launched a withering attack on his critics. "For anybody to say I am putting on an act over the injuries is plain ridiculous and wrong," he told The Sun. "Tell me who in their right mind would not want to finish a Carling Cup final or play in the Champions League?" Kewell's comments are unlikely to curry favour with Benitez and the Spaniard may seek out the Australian to clarify the issue.
