Pope Pompous XVIII" And one you use or abandon to suit your argument. Typical and faintly pathetic evasion tactics by Pope. Why...

That's not their job.

It's the job of scientists. So far they have failed to explain how it came to be created. This hiatus in the otherwise uncontested progress of "science" remains an embarrbutting one to those who put all their faith in scientists to explain this universe of ours and all that is in it.

In short, none of the non-believers can explain how it got there either, and their theories, mainly focusing on the work as a forgery and therefore some type of painting or proto-photograph, are even more laughable.

The shroud is a manufactured item. What is not known to this day is how the image of a crucified man came to be on it.

In negative, and with real bloodstains. An image of a man in rigor mortis by the way. Yet one that shows not a single sign of the decomposition of the body.

There is very hard scientific data. The forensic pathology of the shroud for instance. Not one person so far has contested the findings of Pierre Barbet, author of "A Doctor at Calvary", Surgeon General at St Joseph's in Paris, and Professor of Anatomy, who declared it impossible to transfer human blood to a linen cloth with the precision evident on the shroud. Or Yves Delage, of the Sorbonne, who "came to scoff but stayed to pray". Or physician Sebastian Rodente, who observed that it wasn't until 100 years after the rest of da Vinci that the principles of human circulation were discovered, which is interesting given the distinct difference on the Shroud between arterial and venous blood flow. Or pathologist Frederick Zugibe, who was that certain of the cause of rest he could even write up a mock rest certificate:

"Cardiac and respiratory arrest due to severe pulmonary edema due to cardiogenic, traumatic, and hypovolemic shock due to crucifixion."

Of course it is. Anyone who wants to make claims on truth has to provide evidence and argument to back those claims up. At least that is the way of things with 'Enlightened free thinking...

Says the expert. The world is full of ignorant experts like you who like to mouth off about things they know nothing about.

Let's just be grateful science is a little more rational and cool-headed about the whole thing eh?

Armed with the right equipment it's surprising how much scientists can establish about the shroud in a matter of hours. The fact that they have had samples to work with for decades seems to have pbutted you by.

Then again we should all bow to your superior wisdom.

I certainly wouldn't claim to prove the Shroud was either the burial cloth of Christ or evidence of his resurrection. But I have presented enough evidence for the...
