Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann is expected to snub a contract offer from Bolton Wanderers. Last week's Champions League triumph has convinced Hamann to stay at Anfield, despite offers from Bolton, Everton and Hamburg.

The German midfielder, whose half-time introduction against AC Milan lifted the Reds, is set to agree a new 12-month deal.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is stepping up his interest in Real Zaragoza centre-back Gaby Milito. Zaragoza are £30m in debt and must sell at least one of their top stars this summer.

Argentina international Milito, 24, is a fearsome, no-nonsense stopper - a priority for Benitez. Manchester United were also keen on the player but Benitez's Spanish links will swing it for the Champions League winners.

Zaragoza are yet to secure Milito to a new deal, with negotiations due to begin this week.

Ruud van Nistelrooy wants a move away from Manchester United.

The Sun says the Dutch ace has told manager Sir Alex Ferguson he wants to quit Old Trafford. Van Nistelrooy had a face-to-face meeting with Ferguson at the end of last week.

Van Nistelrooy, 28, has not formally handed in a transfer request but he wants out after a disastrous season.

The centre-forward's agent has been spotted in Spain several times this year, fueling speculation that Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen to land the Holland international.
