No, I do not. I argued that if someone was poor or in some way disadvantaged (i.e. an underdog) then at least I could understand it. There is a difference. I did not say the mania was acceptable.
Mania a mood disorder in which the someone tends to respond excessively
Your problem is you are not seeing exactly what is before you.
Of Andrew Murray, I first said: "Is he a toff?"
Toff n. Chiefly British Slang a member of the upper clbuttes an elegantly dressed man (often with affected manners)
You replied: "What has that got to do with it?"
I responded thusly: "I don't quite understand the fuss that follows these undeserving privileged types. A working clbutt lad-lbutt who doesn't have umpteen tennis courts on their private estate, yes, but not some toff who, as the original poster says, has achieved little or nothing of substance."
You came back with: "Henman priviliged? no his parents are just middle clbutt (who worked for their money) not f***ing rich beyond all means."
But clearly, as the definition shows, Henman is indeed privileged:
Privileged adj. Enjoying a privilege a special advantage or having privileges: a privileged childhood; privileged society.
I also "His family have a history of playing tennis at Wimbledon that dates back to the early 1890s. I meant 1900s Playing tennis at the top level was even more a reserve of the rich and privileged at that time."
You indirectly accused me of being racist: "I can't be arsed with Henman one way or another but your f***ing statement is as bad as saying its because someone is black etc."
I resent that.
To help you along I even clarified the gist of my message by adding some emphasis. But you responded with another non sequitur and personal abuse: "Henman got to his rank on f***ing merit not how much money mummy & daddy had. tosser."
All well and good. But I am not expressing an opinion on behalf of some old ladies.
Please first tell me who made such an argument? Not me.
I feel Henman is undeserving of such *adulation* because he has achieved little or nothing of substance, and most likely never will. You may not agree with that view, but that is a different matter to what you are erroneously charging me with here: prejudice and racism.
No, but perhaps it shows you have a propensity for jumping in with both feet?
