and secondly, if you had lived somewhere foreign its hard, to begin with until you learn the language and settle in.
i lived in spain for 5 years and if i left after the first year id be glad.... you cant cope in the summer, at least 40c during the summer months let alone playing football in it, and if you dont speak spanish it can be frustrating, i worked in an office and coudlnt understand a word majority of people were talking about.

i was glad everytime when i came back on holidays to the UK to see family, because im not a fan of foreign food i was raised up on brittish food and it was a relief to have some broccoli, mash potato, yorkshire puddings etc..instead of mad piellas which have god knows what in them.
