Liverpool conclude Bolanos trial spell Jan 10 2006
By Ian Doyle, Daily Post
LIVERPOOL have released Christian Bolanos from his trial at Anfield.
Rafael Benitez opted to take a closer look at the Costa Rica international after he impressed during the Club World Champion-ship in Japan last month.
Bolanos was part of the Deportivo Saprissa team that was beaten 3-0 by Liverpool in the semi-final.
The 21-year-old had scored earlier in the the tournament, and arrived at Melwood last week to attempt to secure a permanent deal.
But Benitez has decided to allow Bolanos to return to his club in Costa Rica.
"He did well in his time at the club but we decided he was not exactly the type of player we were looking for at the moment," said a Liverpool spokesperson.
Meanwhile, teenage MK Dons goalkeeper David Martin will travel north tomorrow to finalise a move to Liverpool.
The 19-year-old, who has made three LDV Vans Trophy appearances for the League One Dons, has been earmarked as a star of the future by Benitez.
A nominal fee is believed to have been agreed, and Martin will discuss personal terms and undergo a medical tomorrow.

Call-up threatens Liverpool move for Agger
By Oliver Kay
LIVERPOOL'S troublesome search for a new central defender has taken another twist with the news that Daniel Agger, the man who has risen to the top of Rafael Ben'tez's wanted list, has been ordered to join the Denmark Under-21 squad on a two-week training camp in Chile, potentially throwing his move to Anfield into doubt.
Agger, the Brondby youngster, was expected to join Liverpool in a £5.5 million deal this week, but negotiations hit a snag when the Danish club announced on Sunday that their asking price was now £7 million. Liverpool remain confident that a compromise can be reached, but, with the 21-year-old due to leave for Spain for a Brondby training camp tomorrow and travel on to Chile on Monday, not returning until January 29, there is a shortage of time to discuss personal terms and to carry out a medical examination before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Michael Laudrup, the Brondby coach, expressed anger at Agger's call-up, which, although including three friendly matches, is seen as little more than a get-together to prepare for this summer's European Under-21 Championship finals in Portugal.
"This decision is the wrong one for Agger," Laudrup said. "With such a talented player, it's not a question of if he leaves Brondby, but where and for how much."
One player who is expected to join Liverpool today is David Martin, the 19-year-old Milton Keynes Dons goalkeeper. Martin - son of Alvin, the former West Ham United defender - has made only three appearances for MK Dons this season, but is regarded as an outstanding prospect.
Florent Sinama Pongolle, who scored twice as a substitute against Luton Town in the FA Cup on Saturday, has pledged to fight for his future at Anfield after interest from several clubs in taking him on loan, but Neil Mellor may leave. Heart of Midlothian and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the interested clubs.

Rafa reveals Depor interest
By Peter ORourke - Created on 10 Jan 2006
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed his interest in Deportivo La Coruna duo Fabricio Coloccini and Cesar.
Benitez is keen to bolster his squad during this month's transfer window and has not hidden his desire to bring in a new central defender.
A number of players have been linked with Liverpool including Brondby's Daniel Agger and Benitez has now revealed Coloccini and Cesar are on his list of targets.
Benitez is looking to add options to his defence and provide cover for Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia and is considering moves for Coloccini and Cesar.
"We need to fortify the centre of the defence and we are considering four or five options," Benitez told La voz de Galicia.
"We had ideas in the summer and we are thinking now in the same way.
"We have targeted Coloccini and Cesar of Deportivo La Coruna and we are just about to obtain if they want to sell."
Coloccini is thought to be keen on a move away from Deportivo having fallen out with coach Joaquin Caparros.
Liverpool could also face competition for Cesar with Bolton believed to be keen on signing the defender.
