I can see from your post why you would be a fan. You seem to posses similar thought patterns. "He made a big difference to the thought process of mankind"? What absolute garbage! How? When? With what? He, and the rest of his group, achieved fame because of the current musical tastes of , mainly, young teenage girls. A dubious and ever changing basis, but then the media took over, as they always do. His strange life and quirky spoutings were made for the TV and papers hacks. He was the David Beckham of his period, and he carried about the same amount of cultural clout. Memories of him will dwindle and die as the generation which so easily swallowed the hype get older and dies off. In about 20 years kids, wondering about the airports name, will ask who he was. " A pop singer son. Sang stuff like we all live in a yellow submarine"

A word from the wise in pbutting. It is very illogical and even self damaging to make buttumptions about the character of someone about whom you have no knowledge, particularly when it leads you to conclusions about the quality of his life and achievments, and the even more stupid, suggestion that, because he has a point of view you disagree with, he probably has the mind of a homicidal maniac. I am sure you can do better. Think about it.

Meanwhile we will have to just get on with our lives without Johns help. Sad that the world has been deprived of the enlightening image of him laying on his bed telling us all to love each other. Maybe true, worthwhile icons should have done more?
