Yes I do. I fully understand now that Gerard Houllier would never have won the league...

there has to be a law of diminishing returns in the attitude that kewell is only fit to be slagged off, it's almost like people are willing him to fail so they can be he first to shout at anyone who will listen "TOLD YOU SO, HE'S A QUITTER!!" the player knows only too well of the opinions of those like simon who will scrutinise his every move and home in on the negative. Kewell can still be a force in this LFC side but he now has to battle the fans as well as his fitness and form.

incidentally there's an interesting interpretation of Rafas questioning of HK's continued injury blight in Tomkins GPRF-(apart from PT citing kewell as "delightful" vs Arsenal, Monaco..

"The whole injury saga was not helped when Ben'tez was misquoted ÐÐ or rather, misinterpreted ÐÐ in the press, maybe as a result of his developing fluency in the English language. (While he could get his point across to a degree, the finer details of communication were what the manager claimed he wanted to be able to better explain.) ÒOne day Harry is okay and the next he says he is unfit,Ó he said. ÒWe donÕt know exactly what the problem is. It changes each day. One day he says itÕs the groin, then itÕs the ankle. Another day he says he can play.Ó That was leapt upon as Kewell inventing problems: saying he is okay, then changing his mind, and announcing another fictional problem ÐÐ as if he simply couldnÕt be bothered to play. Ben'tez, however, was almost certainly saying that Kewell had a number of injury problems, affecting different parts of his body, and when one was cured, another flared up. The manager said: ÒThe player wants to be fit and we want the best for him and we are working together. We are happy with the situation and are working towards finding a solution to his problems. I donÕt have any problems with Kewell. Our relationship is good. We talk and there is no problem. I just want the best for him and he knows that. Harry is frustrated because he wants to play and he wants to be fit. I had an email from his agent today to say there are no problems. The most important thing is he is fit. He is a key player for us. He is having injections in his groin now and at the moment the situation seems under control although we will only know more in a week or two.Ó

The sky continues to fall in for Everton after yet another heavy defeat at the hands of limited opposition. Changes were made...

"There are definitely some double standards at work in the treatment of Kewell by the media, and indeed by many Liverpool fans. When Kewell was forced to limp out of the Carling Cup final, after a kick to the ankle, he tried to play on ÐÐ and for a while seemed to be moving freely enough ÐÐ but eventually asked to be taken off. The critics were clear: Kewell should want to play in a match of such import, and by leaving the field he couldnÕt have wanted to play. Then in the Mersey derby, Stephen Warnock ÐÐ who no one in their right mind would accuse of being a ÔlightweightÕ, after recovering from two serious leg breaks as a teen ÐÐ received a kick on the ankle in a challenge with Tim Cahill. Same situation as Kewell at Cardiff. When Warnock, having given it his best, asked to be substituted ten minutes later, halfway through the first half of his first taste of local hostilities, there was only sympathy. Kewell was lambasted for walking out of a match he should want to play in; Warnock was excused. Ultimately, if you are injured then you are injured."
