Liverpool striker Peter Crouch will offer England "something different" for the World Cup qualifiers in October, according to Chelsea's Frank Lampard.
Crouch looks certain to be selected by England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson when he names his squad for the qualifiers against Poland and Austria
Lampard said: "He'll be pushing for an England place for sure. He's fresh and different and is someone we can use.
"He poses a different kind of threat to what you encounter elsewhere."
England's defeat at the hands of Northern Ireland means that Eriksson's side need to beat Austria and Poland in their final two qualifiers if they are to finish top of Group Six and automatically qualify for the 2006 finals in Germany.

Lampard, who saw Crouch at close hand in Wednesday's Champions League match on Wednesday, added: "I could have told you before that Crouch is one of the best at what he does.
"You know when he is playing he is going to get hit with a lot of long balls and you have to deal with it.
"Not only does he flick the ball on but he is a good player with his feet."
England's game with Poland at Old Trafford will be refereed by Kim Milton Nielsen, who sent off Wayne Rooney after the Manchester United striker sarcastically clapped the Dane in the Champions League game against Villarreal.
