Interesting post, and even more interest next season if we add Arsenal to the mix.
It is not quite true that Chelsea cannot improve unless they become unbeatable. The area for improvement is the same for them and all the other top sides who want to compete, and it will be in getting wins from games previously drawn where extra points are available. Man U have drawn 18 so far over the past two seasons, so plenty of room for improvement. Same with Chelsea with 12, and Pool and Arsenal.
It is often said that "we only need ******** ? to be as good as Chelsea", as if they will remain static. It would be more realistic to buttume they won't, but with such a high success rate right now their improvement has to be marginal. But that could be enough to see off the challengers. The evidence suggests they will play better if challenged and the recent small glich was the caused by being unopposed at the top for the best part of 2 seasons. But who really knows?
Arsenal are beginning to get a defence like the ones of old and plenty of clbutt going forward. Pool are rock solid and just need a touch more craft from the transfer market to become even better and much the same with Man U.
