Well that has put us back 10 yearsThat would be the free flowing counter attacking football that got wiped out by AC Milan and Bayern. In the round that Arsenal and Manchester United went out...
You really don't get my point, or, if you get it, you seem appalled by it. That's not really my problem.
If something like the above happens - I can think of one match now, our home match against Chelsea where we outplayed them for a long time, but they ended up knicking it 1-0 anyways - I would of course be bloody disappointed, even gutted...but listen: If they DON'T SCORE we were ultimately NOT the best team. If we do EVERYTHING right, right up until that pretty vital part - putting the ball in the net - then, NO, we were NOT the BETTER team. The ONLY thing that counts (at the end of the day, like Shearer would say ;-D ) is putting the bloody ball in the net. That's why Milan deserved to go through, even though PSV *outplayed* them for about three of the four halfs.
Doesn't mean that the other things don't count, doesn't mean that hooking yourself up to BBC Final Score is as anything as valid as watching the game.

Next Olympics, an 18-year-old comes along, wins the 100 m in his first attempt. Many will say that the 30-year-old "deserves" it more than the 18-year-old.
ToshackYou don't take the point. This Champions League thing is used to decide who's the best team in Europe. There's a group stage, and a knockout stage - in the same way that all European...
Why is that?
