Please point to where I claimed that LFC will be successful solely because they were the best club in England.
Firstly, we are the best club side in England, if you're judging "best" in terms of trophies won. That's obviously not to say that we currently have the best team in England.
Secondly, I happen to believe that LFC will be successful (meaning, will win more trophies) in future not solely because of our past achievements (although the past does have an important bearing on the present and the future), but because we have a top-notch management team (imo), good squads (youth and first team), decent income, great facilities, and a tradition and fanbase that are second to none. What we have achieved in the past obviously does help -- we built a great football club over many years, which helps to attract decent signings and ensure financial stability.

Early doors for Raffa. It took Ferguson many more years before he turned things around for Manchester UTD. And, don't forget, Raffa's won us the Champion's League, which is more than both Wenger and Mourinho have managed between them.
As for money, things are tight at the moment, however we're on a sound footing and things will improve. There are potential investors out there, should it become necessary to review the present arrangements. There is a new stadium planned, which will also generate more income over the long term. We don't have Russian blood-money, nor do we want it. Moreover, that kind of money is not necessary in order to run a successful football club. There will always be more than enough top players around to challenge a single side's dominance of the league over an extended period of time, and there's more than one way to skin a fullback. Chelsea raised the bar and now we're all playing catch-up; enjoy it while you can, it won't last forever.
Steady improvement (may well be 3 steps forward, 2 back, as this season has so far illustrated). As I said, no need to sell our soul to the devil, and no need to rely on a collapse of the "top 3", although it would be fun to watch. I personally think that no one team will be dominating the title a few years hence. LFC will have as good a chance as any to be in the mix.
You just don't get it, do you. We are a big club, on so many levels. Even a 20 year drought in terms of league championship wouldn't change that fact. Besides, this whole "we are bigger than you" crap is infantile. You can define "big" in many different ways. Ultimately, let Chelsea achieve half of what LFC have achieved, then you can legitimately claim to be becoming a great club. At the moment, you're just Nouveaux Riches. Only time will tell whether you have the guts, graft and the very soul over the long haul to carve yourselves out your own piece of greatness, or whether you'll just become another flash-in-the-pan, destined to implode under the weight of your own bloated egos when your sugerdaddy succumbs to his own history.
Oh I am. I'm looking forward to adding yet more trophies to the cabinet, with great optimism. As far as LFC is concerned there will be many more glory days, mark my words.
