Before Benfica beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield their last 6 games in Portugal were 3 wins and 3 losses and since beating Liverpool Benfica have played twice and got a draw and a loss and haven't scored a single goal in the last 180 minutes.
As far as points go Benfica this year is actually even worse than last year and are a mediocre team by European standards yet they weren't lucky to get past Man Utd and Liverpool as you don't get lucky in 4 games. Like I said, it's not that Benfica is anything great but rather how poor both English teams performed particularly Man Utd who IMHO are potentially a more spectacular team than Liverpool and therefore expectations are higher on them to perform.
I wasn't impressed with any of Benfica's 4 games except the win Vs Man Utd in Portugal, I definitely didn't see that coming and Man Utd have no excuse there, they faced an inferior team in every way and should have won.
Funny how Arsenal and Benfica are weaker sides in their respective leagues this year yet both are still in the CL.
P.S. Benfica got eliminated from the Portuguese Cup this week by 16th placed Vit-ria de GuimarLiverpool Vs Benfica
Lucky Devin Reina Vs Moretto? I'll take Reina but it's debatable. Riise Vs Leo? Right now, I'll take...
