ATTN LescorPlatini to unveil plan to revitalise the Champions League
Euro-septic As Michel Platini prepares to unveil his plan to revitalise the Champions League, it's time to fear for football's future. September 26, 2006 10:50 AM...

Fans are fickle and Rafa is a very lucky boy. Had Gerrard's goal in the ECL final not inspired the crowd to roar and put the poos up the Italians for 7 minutes then Liverpool would have been soundly spanked and the season would have ended with 2 failures in finals and a 5th place behind Everton and no ECL place. When Hoolahoop was sacked I think his record before getting the elbow was better, he did if I remember rightly secure you an ECL spot. As I say, Rafa is a very lucky boy and he knows it, and I think when most kopites remove the rose tinted specs they know it also.

Rafa is also very lucky that Gerrrard's uncles 'persuaded' him to stay at Anfield. Had he gone to Chelsea Liverpool would not have got an ECL place last season and neither would they have made the Cup final, Rafa would have been back in Spain before you can say 'caramba!'

If Liverpool's mediocre start continues and Rafa's new strikers are as 'good' as the last ones he signed I'll be surprised if he's still in charge this time next year.
