I just happen to be a theoretical computer scientist. I have a pretty good idea about mathematical proof as I spend a good proportion of my job reading and writing them. I proved that with Le Dieu's agreed definition of 'easier', his buttertion that the CL is easier to win than the PL was wrong. He has even since said that he agrees with this. I didn't claim the PL was easier for every team, or any one particular team, just that Le Dieu's statement was wrong. Can you find fault in the proof? If not, then stop going on about it. I think now that maybe your beef is with the buttumption that 'easier' is related to probability (and I do think that is about as good as you can get to a definition of 'easier'), but it was the definition that Le Dieu was using when he made the statement, so it was a correct buttumption. This was the reason I asked him to agree on it before I did anything else.
What avoiding? I completely agree that Liverpool had a better chance in the CL this year than winning the league. But one team's chance of winning the CL has no relation to Le Dieu's original statement.
