...thinks the "best clubs" should be seeded in the Champions league later stages, based on past European results rather than their performance in the first rounds of the competition. He thinks the "best" teams need "help":
"Seeding teams is a possibility. I don't think that the formula at the moment helps the best teams."
He thinks the results of games should be decided on possession stats:
"If you look at the possession of Real Madrid, Arsenal or Barcelona, they based their game on less defending than the other teams but the direct knock-out turned against them". Oh Diddums, poor dears.
He thinks that the "big" teams should automatically get help to succeed because.. well, they are big, after all...
"You can't afford to have Real Madrid and Manchester United - big clubs who invest so much money - going out in the last 16. You will have a revolt if it continues like that,".
Hey, Mr Wenger, I've got an idea: why not do away with the actual matches altogether, and have a piggy-in-the-middle competition between the "big teams" (by invitation only) to determine who wins the trophy. There would be no need to sink to such a lowly activity as defending, and you would avoid having to buttociate with the poor scummy little clubs who have the audacity to actually try to beat your darling boys in a football match.
JuveI'm buzzin' about this one!! Sure....we could have got PSV or Lyon, probably as much an outsider as we are. BUT WE GOT JUVE...
Or might I make one last suggestion, Mr Wenger? A bit out of left field perhaps, but.. how about teaching your team to become better at.. well, winning football matches?
"Although we have learned to deal with this, I don't think that the big clubs will be capable of dealing with that for a long time."
Well no, I understand now.. what if they carried on loosing and the scummy little clubs kept on winning, and just got better and better and.. oh my, it just aint cricket!
Bottom line: Your team got knocked out because you were unable to beat your opponents. Take it like a man? No, you'd rather find a way to cheat instead. Tit.
