Post Match RantI can guarentee we're all pissed off now, with Chelski winning. So, this is the post to get poo off your chest...
OK.......If I was the chip leader in the situation and heard the other guy call a pair of nines I would instantly know I'd won without even looking toward the other blokes cards. I would have shown my trip kings , gone for the pot and "may" have then seen that he had a flush. Would I would say something... I really don't know, I think it would depend if the guy was being an arse all night or not. (tongue in cheek)
Being out of the hand and in the circumstances I was in at the time, I believe I did the right thing and did not cheat. I did not stand to gain from the situation myself as I had already folded. The Chip leader at the time was the guy I wanted the chips from, that's the "game" of poker.
midLent Temptationok, I will act like the devil today and give you all a tempting bet remember, I asked you...
Given this, not one person stood to gain any advantage (except the chip leader) with not saying anything at the time. It was winner takes all and nothing for 2nd or 3rd.
I really don't think anyone took advantage of the drunk guy, as he called the hand and was the one who was stupid enough to call "all in" on a pair of nines before the other heart came up. He must have known that the flush hand was up (or did he?) he obviously, heard the comments around the table when the river card turned up another heart, "that's a tough one to call", "there's a flush draw up their" and my "thank f*** I'm out of this hand". The guy had the signs but did not call a flush. He called a pair of nines and lost to trip Kings. What are we supposed to do? I took this from the Poker room:-

The rules are:
1)One player per hand. (Don't advise another player on his hand.) 2)Must show both cards to win. (In Omaha, you must show all four) 3)Cards speak.
Yesterday... 4370problem. This idea that teams sit back or decided to change their tactics to defend a lead can be a sort of consolation..."we only lost because...
The rule "Cards Speak" basically means that the drunk guy should have won the pot but Rule1- "One player per hand. (Don't advise another player on his hand.)" means that everyone there and the guy who took down the pot didn't do anything wrong either.
I have been told from the poker rooms that if he'd said nothing and just turned over his cards then someone should have said something. With him calling the nines as he did, he effectively gave up the hand.Everyone sat there looking and thinking in their heads, "you got a King high flush you dumb schmo!"
They say the cards do the talking but in this situation the drunk guy was the victim of his own misfortune. I just feel a bit bad about it all as I didn't think it was that fair. That's the rules though.
