OTPoker nightDont read if you dont kno 4365
Thanks for all the feedback on this thread, I think it's a case of setting out the "individual rules" beforehand and sticking by them. I think...

Don't read this if you don't know poker terminology, as you just say....."eh!!"

Just had a poker night with some guys from work, this is the 6th one we've had. Texas hold'em no limit. Came 3rd from 9 with small money, but a good night overall, smokes and beers with the lads type of night. £180 to the winner.

I have a question though. It's more of a moral question really.

From the BBC website
Lifted from the BBC Sport website The first trophy of the English season is up for grabs on Sunday as Liverpool and Chelsea meet in the final of the Carling Cup at Cardiff. Liverpool's Rafael...

One guy was short stacked and real stoned-drunk. He went all in against the chip leader with a flop consisting of king of hearts another heart card and the nine of spades. I immediately folded an AQ off suit but the chip leader called. The turn card is another heart and a side pot opens up between the chip leader and another guy. The other guy folds and its all on the river. Another heart! Four heart cards on the table.

Now, we've been having these games once a month and the Drunk guy is new to this "school". He was a bit of a loudmouth and not really all together. A bit of a wild cannon and very unpredictable. The chip leader is a non drinker, real smart and a damn fine poker player.

Post Match Rant
I can guarentee we're all pissed off now, with Chelski winning. So, this is the...

As the drunk has gone all in he shows his cards and declares a pair of nines as ONE of the flop cards is a nine of spades, his other hole card being the nine of hearts . The chip leader promptly turns over a pair of kings which he was dealt and declares a set. He quickly takes the pot and everyone around the table agrees he has won. The drunk at this point declares his frustration and accepts defeat. I saw his other card which was the queen of hearts. He has a King high flush draw and no one says a word. I look around the table in disbelief that no one has seen this but no one said a word and I admit, I said nothing.

The drunk quickly went out a few hands later and is currently "sleeping it off".

What would you do in that position? Is it his fault for not noticing he had the flush or is this cheating through silence?

I don't think anyone liked playing a hand against him because of the unpredictability, but his money was on the table and he should have taken a fairly large pot on the hand.

The chip leader at this point went on to come second anyway, so justice in a way, but I cant help feeling the poor drunk was hard done by. What would you have done in the circumstances?

Ok , good point, but who cheated? The drunk bloke didn't see he had the flush, I did, and although no one said anything Imp sure the other guys...
