No one is forcing anyone to buy the season tkts. Many fans have been waiting for over ten years for the chance. The fact that the tickets will enable them to see cup as well as league matches will be a bonus for the fan rather than a burden.
And like I said, any cup tkts that the fan can't or won't use can be easily pbutted or sold on. There is a huge demand. In fact, any fan who genuinely doesn't want to attend the cup games (I can't imagine there will be any) could sell all his tkts at face value and make back half the cost of his season ticket.

I'm sure there will be price increases. United has been one of the cheaper season tkts in the Premiership for years. The Glazers will soon see to that I'm sure.
I will be very surprised if Liverpool don't raise their ticket prices too. I don't know whether Anfield is cheaper than OT or not but I certainly know who's had most value for money over the last 15 years.
