Without further ado, Part 2:

Gerrard: Am I the only one who actually thought it was a good idea to rest Gerrard? He started of so well when our season started in July but in the last few games he has seemed to be lacklustre. His hasn't been at his influential best recently and I hope the mid-week rest will have done him good and he will be raring to go on Sunday. With all the distractions buried in the past I think that this will be the best season yet for our captain. He will be fully focused and is now accustomed to the demands of the captaincy. Additionally, our exploits in Istanbul will have reinforced his belief and we will be a stronger team for it.

Alonso: After such a captivating debut season I think there will be great things to come from the only player who can teach Gerrard a thing or two about pbutting the ball. However, I also see cracks appearing. Both his pbutting and tackling haven't been upto the usual sublime standards so far and the majority of his long balls are not finding their targets. I pray that this is just early season rustiness adn normal service will be resumed very shortly.

Sissoko: Buy of the summer and the majority of people will agree. Who says that foreign players need a season to settle? Momo has taken to the Prem like a duck to water and not only is he handling it, but he's excelling at it. An accomplished tackler and pbutter who is tireless. He will chase down every ball, even in the 93rd minute and more often than not he will get it or force his quarry into a mistake. For someone so young his reading of the game and breaking up of play is amazing. Last season our best kept secret was Alonso, this season it will Sissoko. Our central midfield quartet puts a huge grin on my face every time I think about it. They will be the catalyst of many a success in the years to come, hopefully starting this very season.

Hamann: Who better to have on the bench to compliment Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko than our own model of German efficiency. Many will say that he is well past it and can't perform any more, but they should go and say that to Kaka. When we need to close out a game and stop the opposition from over running us Hamann is the perfect tonic. He won't do anything spectacular, in fact most people won't even see what he does for us but he is damn good. The bonus for us is that he is fighting for a place in the Germany squad for the summer and that will make him even more determined and he has the experience to help the younger lads and coax the best out of them.

Luis Garcia: Our very own Jekyll and Hyde. At times he can be inspirationally brilliant and at others he is gut-wrenchingly bad. If he can sort that out he could turn out to one of the most entertaining midfielders we have seen in red shirt for a long time. Last season everyone was on his back for being too lightweight. He went down too easily and wasn't strong enough to cope with the demands of the Premiership. He has now corrected that and at the tail end of last season and start of this season that problem seems to have been eradicated. Now everyone is on his back for being wasteful with the ball and giving it away to much. I hope he repeats the trick and learns his lesson and corrects that. Apart from those flaws the rest of his game is a joy to watch. He has undoubted skill, can finish in spectacular style and does his fair share of tracking back. His off-the-ball positioning isn't too bad either. I think we will be seeing him sucking on his thumb a bit mnore this season.

Zenden: He came with a very good reputation but has failed to live up to the billing so far. Maybe he hasn't settled in Merseyside too well but I don't think it's that. When he had a great season with Boro last season it was because he played in the centre of midfield. At Liverpool we have plenty for that position so Zenden has had to revert back to the left and I think he is finding it hard to cope. That is why he cuts inside too much and he is being ineffective as that part of the pitch is too crowded already. Riise would be perfect to exploit the gap left behind on the flanks but that has its pros and cons. I believe Zenden has the experience to overcome this and find his form again I just hope he starts doing it sooner rather than later otherwise he will find out the hard way how fickle some of our fans can be.

Stay tuned for Part 3: The Strikers coming as soon as I've had my dinner.
