Some BS are saying they're in with a chance of signning MO cos Real don't want to let MO go to a CL competing side..... same might go for NUFC.
Steven Gerrard says - "It goes without saying I would love Michael Owen back here and think everyone at the club would love him back," Gerrard told the ECHO.
"Obviously it's up to Real Madrid. He's their player and they'll decide if he can go, but when I see Michael in the England squad this week I won't even have to ask him where he'd like to be in a few weeks."
I think we should get him back.
then there is this $26m deal??
LIVERPOOL have put hard cash on the bargaining table this weekend in an attempt to end Michael Owen's football frustration with an immediate return to Anfield.
"The European champions have offered Real Madrid a $14 million down payment for the England forward, with a further $12 million spread over the next three years to meet his $26 million valuation.
It is a deal, proposed over the past 48 hours, that indicates a remarkable U-turn by Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez and is a measure of his concern about the strike partnership of Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes in the premiership.
Just a year ago, the tough-minded Spaniard discarded Liverpool's most prolific finisher during a contract stalemate and recruited Morientes from the Bernabeu in January's transfer window."
Now Baros is on his way out, it's paramount we sign another quality striker imo.
Then there is this-
"Newspaper reports today claim that former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier was offered striker Djibril Cisse over the summer after Milan Baros turned down the opportunity to join Lyon.
Houllier rates Cisse very highly hence why he splashed the cash on the player in the first place but with him getting the boot from the Anfield hot-seat, he never actually got to work with him.
Manager Rafael Benitez has been dissatisfied with his strikers this season despite words from him to the contrary. We recently reported that Fernando Morientes was also offered to Aston Villa and newspaper reports today also make the same claims.
Truth be told, it would appear that the manager would be prepared to sell any of his big three but would prefer to sell in the order of Baros, Morientes and Cisse. Baros continues to be offered to Villa which looks a likely destination although we understand Newcastle United have recently made "gentle inquiries".
f***ing Koptalk.......
