Padre Ted offered me a £1,000 bet earlier today that Liverpool would finish above Everton in the league next season, I accepted the bet.
I suggested that we use one of those online websites that allows punters to bet against punters, PMD suggested betfair.com. This would mean Ted would need to set the bet up and pay his grand, I would then pay a grand and take the bet. The winner gets their grand back plus their original stake, minus a small fee.
Since I accepted the bet Ted has tried every excuse in the book to back out, first of all it was 'Betfair don't do this sort of bet' but when he was reminded by PMD (a kopite) that they do, he changed it to 'I will only do this bet if we write a contract written by my mate who is a barrister and hand the money over at the end of the season'.
Yeah, right, and anyone other than Ted will feel comfortable with that!
I just thought I'd let you know that as well as being one of the lamest kopites on this NG, he's also a complete poohouse, aren't you Ted... or will you now got to Betfair.com and set up the bet?
