I'll add to my last post by saying Fergie made the very same point years ago. If I can recall, it's one of the things that started the Fergie-Wenger rift. Houllier didn't agree either. SAF said the same thing years ago that you're all saying now. The attitude then seemed to be 'don't be so successful then' or 'it gives us all a chance' to those who moaned. Maybe if everyone had pulled together then, you wouldn't have this mess now.
So as much as I agree with your point, those moaning now might only have themselves to blame.
