Another point I wanted to make in this thread - the most recent research on cannabis, as I've mentioned, is being driven...

It's easy to sit on the fence and say both sides are wrong - I could join a hundred Usenet posts and do the same. Tell us what you would do, legislation wise, on this sensitive issue? You are seemingly attacking both sides of the debate, but not offering any real opinions of your own. My brother does this, it's quite annoying - he generally has no input of any worth to a debate, so just takes swipes at both sides.

I may not know *all* the facts, although you could say the same for any other drug, including all the legal ones, but I do know some. One is this how many times until it sinks in?: It is a fact that that the majority of people who use cannabis do so without serious problems - even the anti-cannabis Daily Mail recognise that. They want to base legislation on the minority, saying that if you stop just one person going 'crazy', it's worth while. They don't, however, address the fact that alcohol is legal and causes more rests than all drugs other than tobaccoalso legal. Which brings me to your quite odd question "what has binge drinking got to do with it?" - if it's not obvious why I bring alcohol and its problems into it, then I don't think you may have been paying close attention to the debate. Comparisons with alcohol have to be made, it is only fair to do so. I'm *trying* to make the rather obvious point that alcohol and tobacco are both legal, and both cause many thousands of rests per year, while cannabis causes no rests at all. That is another *medical* *fact* - I'll say it again slowly so I don't have to hammer it home a thousand times like the one above: Cannabiscausesnorests. Itisillegal. Alcoholcausesmanyrestsandislegal. They are both facts. When you say I don't know the facts, I may not know them all, who does? But the ones I offer above are valid and indisputable. They are also enough to blow the unfair, unjust and downright ignorant anti-cannabis laws out of the water.

I'm now going to leave this debate. I can argue all day long when the opposition is worth arguing with - but I'm now down to someone who takes swipes at both sides without offering much of worth of their own, and someone who seemingly knows nothing, refuses to read the facts linked to by Nutrimat, yet still thinks he knows enough to argue the case.

AFAIC, the pro-cannabis side of this argument wins hands down. It always does. That's why it is time to further reduce these unjust laws.

Goodnight.
