Legends from Liverpool's illustrious past rolled back the years on Sunday afternoon as a Reds team featuring Ian Rush and John Aldridge won the Sheffield Masters including a 5-0 win over Everton. Liverpool beat Sheffield Wednesday in the final 5-4 on penalties with goalkeeper Bob Bolder the hero making some great saves, and have now qualified for the Grand Final on September 4, at the M.E.N arena in Manchester.
Alan Kennedy was the oldest player in the tournament at 51 and captained the team featuring goalkeeper Bob Bolder, John Wark, Mike Marsh, Nigel Spackman, Michael Thomas, Paul Walsh, John Aldridge, Ian Rush and John Durnin.
In the Reds first game they drew 2-2 with a Sheffield Wednesday side featuring the likes of Chris Waddle, Carlton Palmer and striker Efan Ekoku, a big Liverpool fan.
