Scooby
We're inYou ungrateful bastard, you're nothing better. You got UEFA to bend rules, rules they never bent for the Spanish FA - leaving the Spanish...
Scooby, a Polish keeper kept us in the game(CL final) more than once and WON the penalty shoot out. A coolheaded German(far and away THE most experienced member of the squad) galvanized the team, watch the game again. Yes Stevie and Jamie played a big big part but to be fair all 11 of them stood up in the second half, it was a team effort, right down to the penalties, it might be worth noting that Gerrard was the one that said he didn't think we could do it, perhaps that's true of the rest of the players, I don't know. I refer back to Phil Thompson on $ky during the early weeks of Rafael Benitez tenure at Anfield, "he deserves his chance like all the others before him"...... I agree with PT, let Rafa do it his way.
Like Arsenal and before us, both bastions of the English game have famously fielded a team of non English players, well there are a few Gooners complaining this but not too many, perhaps you represent the minority?
As ar as Houllier goes, he admits his signings let him down, ergo- they were the wrong or bad signings, all managers make them, Benitez included. Now, look across the squad selected for the Cl final and tell me how many Houllier signed?
French,German,Italian,Spanish,Welsh,Scottish,African,Dutch, red, black, white, yellow or f***ing green, if they're winners and can play, they'll do for me.
Champions LeagueSeeded teams cant meet in the Qualifying rounds, so we could only get Everton. Here is the 3rd Qualifying round...
Also, let your fears be alleviated, Rafa signed an English keeper and is reputedly chasing an English midfielder and striker.
ps- just how many 2nd rate "Frenchies" did GH sign?
-- "Luis Garcia laughed off suggestions that a Spanish referee would help the Reds in the CL final."
