Liverpool, the newly crowned Champions of Europe, have been confirmed by UEFA as the top English side in the competition and as such will be placed in the top seeds should they surmount the three qualifying rounds and enter the group stage of the Champions League.

Here they could face any of the second seeded group sides, such as Chelsea or even lowly Everton, who would potentially be the lowest ranking side should they even manage to qualify for the competition.
